Silvia M. Ledesma Silvia Martinez Ledesma, age 43, of Austin, passed away early morning on Thursday, July 29, 2004. She was born on August 21, 1960, in Las Vegas, Coahuila, Mexico, the daughter of Wenceslado Martinez and Carolina Aguilar de Martinez.
She married Alex Ledesma on October 22, 1986, in Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father early in her life. She graduated from Carrizo Springs High School in Carrizo Springs, Texas in 1980. Shortly after moving to Austin, she established her own private business, a home child development center she named, "Tia's Home She was a registered child development provider by the State of Texas. She i is survived by her husband, Alex Ledesma; son, Adderley, M.
Ledesma; mother, Carolina Medina of Carrizo Springs; sisters, Janie M. Garcia of Del Rio, Texas, Adriana Molina of Piedras Negras, Mexico, and Angie Escamilla, Susan Huizar and brothers, Freddie Medina, Rey Medina of Carrizo Springs, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Silvia had a great love for helping others in their time of need. She loved children and chose daycare as her profession caring for the children as if they were her own. She always tried to help parents needing childcare, whether they could pay for it or not.
She was known to have little in the way of material things due to always giving those items to others. Her family knew to always count on her to be able to help in their time of need. Her love of her pet parakeet, Cinco, whom she has had for many years, was also unique in that she was the only person who could hold him. Silvia will be greatly missed by her large extended family, the many friends she made, and the numerous parents of the children she cared for until recently. The family would like to extend deep felt thanks to the staff on the 2nd floor at South St.
David's Hospital for their compassion and great care during her illness. They would also like to extend thanks to the staff of Dr. Michael G. Teneriello and Dr. Muzhat Ahmed for their care and compassion.

She furthered her education by attending Austin College and obtaining a degree in Business Management. She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Peg) Daman.
Kathy is survived by her son, Dillon Eugene Vickers of Austin; father, J. A 1932 graduate of Austin High, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in 1936. Before her marriage in 1941 to Claude H. Eads, she taught at Fulmore School and was organist at University Baptist Church. She returned to teaching in 1957.
After retiring, she became a docent for the Heritage Society and volunteered in its 1886 Room. In 1978 Anna Ruth founded Assistance League of Austin's "Bus With Us" project to provide excursions for senior citizens. Eighteen years later she again retired at age 81. Her work treated 15,000 seniors to riverboat rides, hill country wildflowers, and barbecue lunches filled with fun. She was pleased that "Bus With Us" now celebrates its 25th year.
She was preceded in death by husband, and is survived by her daughters, Janey Altimari, and husband, Richard of Rocklin, California, Beverly Manning and husband, Kirk of Ft. Worth, and Sally Eads of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Scott and Amy Altimari, Elizabeth Blair and Stephen Manning; sister, Helen Beverly Wieland of Austin and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to thank Hospice Austin and the staff at Brighton Gardens for their care and support. He was born June 12, 1919, in Walker, Minne- sota, to Edith and Clele Brown. He graduated from Parkrose High School in Portland, Oregon, and served in the Army in Europe during World War II under General Omar Bradley.
In 1951 he graduated from Oregon State University and worked as an engineer for Chevron Oil Company in San Francisco, CA. El Paso, TX, Pasadena, CA, and Ras Tanura, Saudia Arabia. Millard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol Parsons. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mabel; daughter, Teri King and husband, Ray; and grandsons, Taylor and Brandon King. He is also survived by his sisters, June Macdonald and Helen Persinger of Eugene, Oregon and many other relatives of Mel and Mabel in Washington and Oregon.
The family would like to thank Elizabeth Smith and the many friends who visited Mel during his brief illness. We would also like to thank the many doctors and staff of St. David's Medical Center and Cornerstone Acute Care Facility that cared for Mel. Douglas Duane Melrose Corwin Waggoner Johnson University of Texas Professor of Law Corwin Waggoner Johnson died on July 29, 2004. Survived by his wife, Evelyn Johnson; his sister, Marceil Weston; his two sons, Kent Johnson and Kirk Johnson; and his three grandchildren, Cory Johnson, Doug Johnson and Scott Johnson. He was born on October 5, 1917, in Hamlet, Indiana, the son of Nora Drake Johnson and Lonnie E. Johnson, and was reared in Moulton, lowa, and Cincinnati, Iowa, where his father was superintendent of the public schools. Corwin graduated from the University of Iowa with Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees.
He also studied at Yale Law School as a Sterling Fellow. During World War Il he served as a Special Agent of the F.B.I., engaged in counter-espionage and other law enforcement activities in field offices in Memphis, New Orleans and San Francisco. Corwin Johnson married Evelyn Banks July 24, 1942. They had been classmates in high school at Cincinnati, Iowa. Corwin and Evelyn moved to Austin, Texas, in 1947, when Corwin joined the faculty of the Law School of the University of Texas, with which he remained affiliated until his death.
He retired in 1988 as the Edward Clark Centennial Professor in Law, but continued to teach half-time for many years. He also served from time to time as a visiting professor at several other law schools, before and after his retirement. Professor Johnson specialized in the law of property, land-use regulation and water resource allocation and management. His publications include -authorship of 8 editions of a widely adopted property coursebook. Professor Johnson was actively involved in the development of Texas water law for over a half century, not only through his published articles, but also in organizing and participating in conferences, advising Texas legislative and administrative agencies, and assisting the Texas Attorney General in water litigation.
He chaired the Governor's Texas Water Code Advisory Committee in 1968- 1970 and last month was one of the featured speakers at a symposium sponsored by the Texas Water Development Board at the Texas State Capitol. He was a member of the Planning Commission of the City of Austin from 1954 to 1956. Other activities were service on the University Co-Op Board, service on the board of a predecessor of the Legal Aid Society of Central Texas, and membership in the University United Methodist Church. Professor Johnson was honored by election to Phi Beta Kappa, Order of the Coif, and the American Law Institute. Students at the University of Texas Law School dedicated their 1958 yearbook, the Peregrinus, to him.
Alumni of the class of 1964 and others established a scholarship in his honor. A memorial service will occur on Tuesday, August 3, at 2:00 p.m., at the University United Methodist Church, 2409 Guadalupe Street, in Austin. Parking is on the North and West sides of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband: C.M.
Rogers, father: William B. Lay, mother: Ada Montgomery Lay, brothers: Raleigh Lay and Wallace Lay, and sisters: Dora Thompson and Eulamaye Lord. Aline was born in Lockhart, Texas on January 30, 1910. She was a member of one of the founding families of Caldwell County and was very proud of her Texas cattle-ranching heritage. Her grandfather William Montgomery was a prominent early Texas cattleman whose adventures along the Chisholm Trail are chronicled in the University of Texas publication Trail Drivers of Texas.
Shortly after her father's death in 1914, the family relocated to Austin as her oldest sister began her studies at the University of Texas. After graduating from Austin High School, Aline attended the University of Texas as member of Alpha Xi. Delta Sorority and continued a life-long association with the University and her sorority. Aline and her family joined the Central Christian Church shortly after their arrival in Austin and she was a devoted member of the Church along with her sisters for almost ninety years. She was married on December 5, 1936 to C.M.
Rogers and celebrated their marriage throughout 60 years together. Aline supported both athletics and education by funding the C.M. Rogers Weight Room for the Texas Longhorn Baseball program in 1998 and also creating the Rogers Scholarship Program administered by the Central Christian Church. C.M. and Aline enjoyed a full and fun-filled life together of travel, bridge, dancing, friends and laughter.
They were active in a number of dance clubs until their steps were slowed just a few years ago. Aline is survived by: her nephew William Thompson, his wife Retta and children, Stephen, Catherine, and Mark, her nephew Larry Lay, his wife Teresa and children, Allison, Cindy, and Melissa, her nephew John Lay his wife Jill and children Sally, Carl, Celeste, Stephanie, and Robert, and also by her sister-in-law Alice Lay. Aline is also survived by a number of long time friends from her many activities in Austin through the years. The family wishes thank Dr. Kenneth Kroll and his staff for the many years of care and kindness and also the very special caregivers Aline has known during her illness.
